GVIII-19, Wide Mouth Sunburst Flask believed to have been made at the Keene Marlboro Street Glassworks in New Hampshire circa 1815-1830. 7 3/8" tall, open pontil. Widely considered the most desirable of all the Sunburst form flasks, this iconic bottle is often referred to as the Sunburst ‘snuff jar’. Only about a half-dozen examples are believed to exist in a variety of colors, with a few exhibiting some form of damage. Sunburst flasks rank among the earliest American geometric and historical flasks, dating from approximately 1815 to the early 1830s. An extremely rare, desirable, and important piece of early American glass. This example is a beautiful medium olive green with a large open pontil. It displays a few open onion skin bubbles, potstones, and one partially crushed bubble measuring approximately 1/16", all extremely minor manufacturing characteristics mentioned only for the sake of complete accuracy. Circa 1842-1856, GIX-49, 9 1/4", quart, open pontil. A large flask produced by the M'Carty & Torreyson Glass Works, Wellsburg, Virginia (present-day West Virginia), which operated from roughly 1842 to 1856. This example has some high-point wear, a few light exterior scratches, and a minor amount of interior stain, predominantly near the base. A 1/4" in-making check is associated with the pontil. Overall, the flask presents exceptionally well, with only minor condition issues typical of a bottle of this age. Jeff Wichmann Collection.

Circa 1850-1860, 9 5/8", open pontil. An extremely rare and interesting conical-shaped bitters that contained Ben Franklin Bitters. Named after the famed American statesman Benjamin Franklin, this bitters reflects the widespread use of patriotic and historical figures to market 19th-century patent medicines. Circa 1850-1860, 9 5/8", open pontil. Another example of the Ben Franklin Bitters bottle, this time with labels. The front label is about 95% complete, while the back label is about 85%. Front label reads: " Ben Franklin Bitters Poor Richard's Tonic / These pleasant and healthy bitters are composed of Purely Vegetable materials and as a tonic cannot be surpassed G. Mansfield Rowland Proprietor. / Directions. Half a wine glass full before each meal. New Haven, Conn." Rear label reads: "Prove All Things" In fantastic condition with just a tiny 1/8" peck on the edge of the lip and a minuscule potstone with a 1/16" halo in the shoulder. Jeff Wichmann Collection.

Circa 1860s, 9 1/4", smooth base. A beautiful teal green Townsend's with whittle, heavy glass, and a highly desirable and rare lip finish. Some collectors believe this style of lip may be associated with the Lockport Glass Works or Lancaster Glass Works, two famous New York glass factories. A small resin repair on the edge of the lip that measures about 1/4" at the widest. A few minor areas of wear, roughly 1/8". An outstanding example of this highly desirable Townsend's variant. Circa 1858-1870, GVII-4, 7 3/4", smooth base. One of the original and highly sought after E.G. Booz's Old Cabin Whiskey bottles, a design so famous that it later inspired countless reproductions and commemoratives. This example displays a beautiful golden amber color with ample whittle throughout. A few very light patches of interior stain are present and visible under strong lighting. Wear on base. Circa 1858-1870, GVII-3, 7 1/2", smooth base. Another original E.G. Booz's Old Cabin Whiskey bottle, this example being the straight roof corners variant. Golden amber with solid whittle throughout. A few light scuffs are present on the rear panel, along with a minor 1/16" peck to the base edge. Sticker on base reads "SNNY VanR." Jeff Wichmann Collection.

Circa 1860s, 9 1/4", smooth base. An extremely rare square from Boston featuring an embossed rooster, indicating the bottle contained a Gin Cocktail. Period advertisements promoted Dunbar's Gin and Whisky Cocktails, Cider and Arrack Punches, Cordials, and other specialty drinks, reflecting the company's diverse line of fashionable beverages. Nice light whittle and character to the glass. Small 3/8" crack on the top half of a bubble on the base edge, see photos. A minor issue that does not detract from this fantastic looking bottle. Circa 1860s, 9 3/8", smooth base. A smokey green Greeley's with some light whittle. As with many of the Greeley's, it is a difficult color to describe, but the natural light photo is very accurate. This example has the vertical annealing lines in the neck often found with these bottles and a shallow 1/16" peck off the edge of the lip. Jeff Wichmann Collection.

Circa 1860s, 9 7/8", smooth base. D 105 variant. A crude tobacco amber Drakes with abundant bubbles throughout the glass. A tiny, shallow 1/16" flake is present on the underside of the third row of the roof. The flaw is remarkably inconspicuous and does not detract from the bottle's outstanding appearance. Circa 1863-1870, 9 1/8", smooth base. K 21 variant. A solid example of the famous Kelly's Bitters in a medium amber color. Some very spotty exterior patina and occasional high point wear. Two small nicks off the top, including a tiny edge flake associated with a minute, non-radiating potstone. A shallow 1/8" flake is present on the front corner near the base.  The slight depression in the base appears to be a natural in-making manufacturing irregularity, with a corresponding raised area on the interior of the base.

Circa 1870, 11 1/4", smooth base. A fantastic looking bottle in an olive amber coloration full of seed bubbles. This bottle was likely sold out of the famous Astor House hotel in New York and probably contained mineral water from the well known St. Catherines springs in Ontario Canada. A few of these bottles have been dug in California and it is believed there may be a Western connection. Collector research suggests that the Parker Brothers, later proprietors of San Francisco's famed Bank Exchange Saloon, may have operated the Astor House Exchange in New York before relocating to California. However, further documentation is needed to conclusively establish the connection. Regardless, a rare bottle with only about a handful of examples known. Circa 1860s, 9 3/8", smooth base. A rare square shaped gin, heavily embossed and issued by the New York wholesale liquor firm of Meeks, Gorman & Meeks. The partnership operated roughly from 1859 through 1863, making its embossed bottles the product of a remarkably brief New York liquor house. Nice light whittle and character to the glass. A few light exterior scuffs and a small 1/8" flake off the edge of the lip, see photos.
