Circa 1842-1856, GIX-49, 9 1/4", quart, open pontil. A large flask produced by the M'Carty & Torreyson Glass Works, Wellsburg, Virginia (present-day West Virginia), which operated from roughly 1842 to 1856. This example has some high-point wear, a few light exterior scratches, and a minor amount of interior stain, predominantly near the base. A 1/4" in-making check is associated with the pontil. Overall, the flask presents exceptionally well, with only minor condition issues typical of a bottle of this age. Jeff Wichmann Collection.
