Circa 1850-1860, 9 5/8", open pontil. Another example of the Ben Franklin Bitters bottle, this time with labels. The front label is about 95% complete, while the back label is about 85%. Front label reads: " Ben Franklin Bitters Poor Richard's Tonic / These pleasant and healthy bitters are composed of Purely Vegetable materials and as a tonic cannot be surpassed G. Mansfield Rowland Proprietor. / Directions. Half a wine glass full before each meal. New Haven, Conn." Rear label reads: "Prove All Things" In fantastic condition with just a tiny 1/8" peck on the edge of the lip and a minuscule potstone with a 1/16" halo in the shoulder. Jeff Wichmann Collection.
