Brown's Celebrated Indian Herb Bitters
Late 1860s-1870s, 12 1/8", smooth base. B 225 variant. A beautiful rare colored Brown's in yellow with a touch of citron green mixed in. Overall in great shape, with two areas of missing glass on the inside of the rolled lip, one about 3/8" and the other 1/4". Its brilliant color and outstanding eye appeal make it a striking example of a Brown's, sure to stand out in even the most advanced Brown's run. Jeff Wichmann Collection.

Brent, Warder & Co Louisville, K.Y.
Circa 1860s, 6 3/4", smooth base. An extremely rare barrel from Louisville, KY with approximately two or three known examples. This example is a beautiful peachy apricot color with a generous amount of whittle and bubbles. Brent, Warder & Co. were Louisville wholesale grocers and commission merchants operating during the 1860s, with this bottle most likely having contained a bourbon or other spirit. I Nelson's Old Bourbon Maysville K.Y.
Circa 1865-1875, 7 1/4", smooth base. An extremely rare barrel whiskey with approximately three known examples. This distinctive shorter, wider barrel form features a bunghole impression and is among the rarest Kentucky whiskey bottles. This example is a medium amber with no issues. Imperial Levee J. Noyes Hollywood Miss.
Circa 1850s, 9 1/2", iron pontil. A figural wine bottle with embossed grapes and grape leaves in a medium amber color. This bottle was from the Hollywood plantation near Natchez, Miss. Great condition with just a small amount of interior content stain near the base that can be seen with enough light. A rare and desirable figural that doesn't come up very often. Circa 1860s, 9 3/8", smooth base. A beautiful Old Sachem in an attractive apricot color. Unfortunately, there are numerous chips throughout the bottle, some small chips on the top, a large L shaped crack on the reverse, and areas of exterior rust. Original Pochahontas Bitters Y. Ferguson.
Circa 1865-1870, 9 1/4", smooth base. This is the misspelled variant of the Pocahontas Bitters, embossed "Pochahontas" rather than "Pocahontas." There are roughly equal numbers of both variants known. This example has a 1/16" radiated potstone in the shoulder and a resin repair to the side edge of the lip measuring approximately 1/4" at its widest point. Regardless, it remains a rare bottle that displays well. The repair is so difficult to detect that we were unable to capture it in a photograph, even under blacklight. For reference, the repaired area is located between the two pieces of tape shown in the photos.Lot # 27

Late 1860s, 11 /3/8", smooth base. This bottle was trademarked in 1868 and contained the "The Great Chinese Remedy Ta Tsing Bitters." A very ornate bottle with both Chinese and English words embossed. There are two minor 1/8" flakes off the edge of the base and a shallow 1/4" crack on the edge of the base, see photos. There is some speculation that this particular mold could be a Western blown variant before the Turner Brothers sold out to McMillan and Kester in 1865. Circa 1860s, 9 3/8", smooth base. One of the older black glass Hostetter's molds. Nice crude glass full of bubbles. A few non-distracting scuffs, likely from being dug in California's Gold Country.
