Circa 1865-1870, 9 1/4", smooth base. This is the misspelled variant of the Pocahontas Bitters, embossed "Pochahontas" rather than "Pocahontas." There are roughly equal numbers of both variants known. This example has a 1/16" radiated potstone in the shoulder and a resin repair to the side edge of the lip measuring approximately 1/4" at its widest point. Regardless, it remains a rare bottle that displays well. The repair is so difficult to detect that we were unable to capture it in a photograph, even under blacklight. For reference, the repaired area is located between the two pieces of tape shown in the photos.
