Levings & Co's Sarsaparilla And Rose Willow
Circa 1890s, 7 1/2", tooled top. A clean, attractive aqua example with a slightly misshapen form. This product was first advertised and bottled in the early 1870s by Dr. Levings. Examples are known with either applied or tooled tops, and it is believed the tooled-top variants date to the early 1890s when Dr. Levings revived the product. Regardless of variant, all are considered rare and highly desirable by medicine collectors.Lot # 126

Circa 1850s, iron pontil. Uncleaned, as found. This is the rarer misspelled variant with 'Sacrimento.' There are a few areas of exterior wear, but for the most part the embossing remains largely free of wear. A light exterior patina with areas of patchy rainbow iridescence and some interior stain. A small and shallow 1/16" surface flake on the shoulder above the embossing. A fantastic early soda in uncleaned condition, a rarity nowadays.Lot # 131

Gold Dust Kentucky Bourbon N Van Bergen & Co. Sole Propt's
Circa 1890s, tooled top. Slight amethyst tone. One of the rarest Gold Dust whiskey fifths known. Shallow, hard-to-see 1/8" surface bruise on the side of the top. A tiny pinhead bruise on the center of the horse and a few small, light exterior scuffs. All are extremely minor issues. Overall, a very strong example of this rare tooled fifth. Gold Dust Kentucky Bourbon N Van Bergen & Co. Sole Agents
Circa 1874-1880, applied top. A legendary Western whiskey fifth that has long been a favorite among Western collectors. Of the two amber Gold Dust variants, the John Van Bergen and the N. Van Bergen, the N. Van Bergen is considerably scarcer. This example has a strong strike with some nice light whittle. Unfortunately, the upper half of the top above the ring has been professionally replaced. The repair is very well executed and difficult to detect with the naked eye. No other issues aside from the replaced top. A great opportunity for anyone who has always wanted an amber horse. Thomas # 155.Lot # 140
