Circa 1874-1880, applied top. A legendary Western whiskey fifth that has long been a favorite among Western collectors. Of the two amber Gold Dust variants, the John Van Bergen and the N. Van Bergen, the N. Van Bergen is considerably scarcer. This example has a strong strike with some nice light whittle. Unfortunately, the upper half of the top above the ring has been professionally replaced. The repair is very well executed and difficult to detect with the naked eye. No other issues aside from the replaced top. A great opportunity for anyone who has always wanted an amber horse. Thomas # 155.
