G.M. Henderson's Bonanza Mineral Water Mendocino Cal
An early 1890s soda with a great name from Mendocino, California! Tooled top with some very light shovel scuffs on the reverse.
Lot # 9
Winning Bid
$300.00
Pacific Soda Works / San Francisco
While at first this looks like a common Classen soda, look again, and you will find that the reverse is embossed 'San Francisco' and 'Classen' is nowhere to be seen. The bottle is an entirely different mold (an exponentially rarer) with other subtle variations to the embossing pattern. This variant likely dates to the late 1860s when Classen left the business and usually comes out of the ground with shiny Western glass.
Lot # 10
Winning Bid
$100.00
Eagle Soda
1850s, Iron pontiled and medium green with an embossed Eagle, these are believed to be a Sacramento bottle. Nice whittle with medium casewear. On the inside base of the bottle there is an open bubble that likely opened during manufacturing. Better than most examples of this soda. This is the variant without the slugplate.
Lot # 11
Winning Bid
$325.00
Napa Soda Phil Caduc / Natural Mineral Water
These Sacramento sodas begin in the 1860s and run into the 1870s. The longer necked examples like this are believed to be the oldest examples. This one is an odd greenish aqua and generally has no issues.
Lot # 12
Winning Bid
$60.00
Empire Soda Works San Francisco
A classic 1860s San Francisco Soda. While aqua Empire sodas are not rare, it is very difficult finding an uncleaned example with no issues and a great strike like this one. An upgrade for most collectors.
Lot # 13
Winning Bid
$120.00
M. Mooney Visalia
1870s. A scarce soda from the central California valley town of Visalia. A few miniscule ticks around the base edge and a small fisheye on the side of the lip. Light interior stain.
Lot # 14
Winning Bid
$190.00
W.H. Burt San Francisco
Iron pontil, circa early 1850s. Yet another pontiled soda in above average condition, this example has minimal casewear and no issues. There is light interior stain and some dirt under the top leading to the conclusion that this soda was never professionally polished like the vast majority of pontiled sodas dug on the West Coast. A very strong example.
Lot # 15
Winning Bid
$275.00
Chase & Co Mineral Water San Francisco Cal
Iron pontiled, circa early 1850s. Medium green. Average casewear with small fisheyes here and there. There is a small patch of missing glass above the O in Co. See photos.
Lot # 16
Winning Bid
$160.00
A.W. Cudworth & Co. San Francisco

Lot # 17
Winning Bid
$300.00
C & K Eagle Soda Works Sac City
Medium blue, circa mid 1860s. A classic Sacramento soda that is often riddled with case wear, over polished, or both. This example is better than most with light wear and no major issues.
Lot # 18
Winning Bid
$400.00
Classen & Co. Sparkling
With embossed anchors. Circa mid 1860s. These sodas don't show up very often anymore. They are often in very rough shape, but this example is better than most with a few areas of wear and the occasional fisheye. On the top there are two tiny pecks, see photos.

$550.00
The Belfast Soda Soda Water & Ginger Ale Co. San Francisco
Circa 1870s. A classic San Francisco soda in a unique shape. Some interior stain and exterior wear, and maybe a peck or two, but no major issues. A light cleaning would improve this example significantly.
Lot # 21
Winning Bid
$180.00
San Rafael Soda Works J Kappenman Propt.
1879-1880. Here is one of Marin County's rarest bottles. Joseph Kappenman ran the San Rafael Soda Works for roughly 1 year before selling it to Sylvain Provencal & Alphone Bresson in 1880. There are roughly six of these sodas known with about three or four in good condition. This example is better than most with a nice aqua tone and numerous champagne bubbles throughout. It's been over 15 years since a San Rafael soda was offered to the public.
Lot # 22
Winning Bid
$1,000.00
Napa Soda B.F. Connolly Natural Mineral Water

Connolly branched out on his own and established this soda works in Petaluma in 1873. This example has some nice light whittle and almost no wear. There is a minuscule 1/8" ping on the reverse neck, see photos.
Lot # 23

San Luis Obispo Soda Water Works S. Ceribelli
1875-1881. A top example Ceribelli Soda from the small coastal California town of San Luis Obispo. This example has a great strike, several bubbles, and a rich aqua color. There is an open bubble on the side of the bottle and a small ping above the L in Luis, but overall a great looking bottle that displays well. See photos.
Lot # 26
Winning Bid
$210.00
Eastern Cider Co.
Late 1870s. A classic Western soda in a pleasing medium amber with a strong strike. There is a tiny 1/16" fisheye on the edge of the lip, and a few light scuffs (likely from being dug) on the body of the bottle. Otherwise, a very solid example, better than most we've seen.
Lot # 27
Winning Bid

Pacific Glass Works
Circa 1860s. A product of the famous Pacific Glass Works in San Francisco. These can be about as old as any western blown glass and date from 1863 to about 1867. This example is a strong aqua with some nice light crudity. There is a very shallow surface check on the base and maybe a fleabite or two on the body of the bottle. Some interior stain.
