Circa 1890s, applied top, fifth. One of the rarest of all the Fenkhausen fifths, this is the highly desirable German red whittled variant. These bottles are prized for their heavy whittle and beautiful shades of red. This particular variant appears to have enjoyed greater popularity in the logging regions of the Pacific Northwest, where a number of broken and whole have been found. With its boldly embossed walking bear and prominent Old Pioneer name, this bottle is likely to remain high on the list of any serious Western whiskey collector.
