Circa 1850s. GXIII-52. 9 1/4", open pontil. A very crude, heavily whittled example with striking black, slag-like swirls and dark impurities throughout the glass. A few open interior bubbles. Some exterior wear. A few difficult to see 1/16" hairline checks on one side. Possibly professionally cleaned. An outstanding example of early crude glass.
