Applied top, late 1850s. This appears to have a very faint sticky ball pontil. This is a shipwreck example of the Bryant's ladies leg from New York. As is typical with the shipwreck examples, this does have some etching to the glass. Overall, a strong example with great provenance! There is a bubble on the dot in the base that opened. See photos.
