Applied top, early 1870s. Here is a legendary Western whiskey 5th that nearly all Western collectors love. This example has a very strong strike and some nice light whittle. Unfortunately there are several small surface crushes throughout the body of the bottle, a repair on the edge of the base measuring about 1" long and 1/4" wide, and a much smaller repair, about 1/8" under the S in Agents. The upper half of the top at the ring has also been replaced. Even with the repairs, this bottle displays very well and is a great opportunity for anyone that's always wanted an amber horse! Applied top, 1870s. This is a nice example of a McKennas in a darker reddish amber with very a very strong strike and some light amber striations. On the reverse there are two side-by-side surface manufacturing checks about 3/8" long along with some interior content stain. Even with the minor checks, this example displays great. See photos. Applied top, 1890s.Here is a red amber example with a fair amount of whittle and a nice monogram. Small flake on edge of base, see photos. Thomas # 131.

Applied top star on base. This is a German blown red amber example with a great applied top. Thomas # 145.

Here is a great looking tooled top whiskey popular with collectors due to the embossed Elk's head. In good condition with just a tiny crush on the O in San Francisco. Barnett # 362.

Tooled top, circa 1910. Here is a rare whiskey 5th from San Jose, California that doesn't show up very often. There are some extremely faint scratches inside the neck, if you look close enough and hold it in the right light. Barnett # 343.

Tooled top, circa 1905-1912. John E Brady ran The Sequoia Saloon on Miller Avenue in Mill Valley, California for a number of years. Sequoia, the latin term for Redwood trees, was a fitting name given Redwoods are ubiquitous in this Marin County town. It's truly amazing that a tiny town, especially in Marin, put out a rare embossed 1/5! Barnett # 72.

This is a great example of the popular R.B. Cutter handled jug. With an open pontil base and a nice tobacco amber color with light whittle.

Here is another R.B. Cutter jug in a much lighter honey amber color with several bubbles of varying sizes. The inside of the bottle appears to have been coated with lacquer to hid the interior stain. Open pontil base.

This is what Western collectors call the 'Mushroom top' ladies leg. There are a few molds with this top, some Eastern blown, and some likely Western blown. This example could be Western blown, but we're just not sure. Regardless, the color on this example is a stunning emerald green with a touch of teal mixed in. Regardless of its origin, it will add depth to any unembossed color run. Very good condition with a few tiny flea bites or minor surface crushes.

What a beautiful grass green square! This unembossed green square (likely bitters) was found many years ago under a shed in Genoa, Nevada. Loaded with whittle and an impressive iron pontiled base, this bottle dates to the late 1850s or early 1860s. This will be a pleasant addition to any unembossed bottle run and just looks incredible in natural light.

Here is a labeled Western blown champagne bottle dug in Aurora Nevada back in the 1960s. The label indicates it held a cider product put out by King, Williams & Co of San Francisco. This is the oldest of the Western blown champagne molds and dates to the 1870s. The bottle is a nice lime green with a small hard to miss surface bruise right below the foil on the neck. See photos.

How often do you see a 1/2 pint beer with any character? Almost never. This extremely rare 'split' is in great condition with some light whittle and occasional bubbles. There is essentially no case ware and all we can find on the bottle is a fleabite on the base edge and a very small flake on the edge of the top. Most likely this beer was found inside a building or on the surface in Gold Country near Jamestown. The stopper reads "Martin Bros Angels Camp, Cal". See photos.

Circa 1900-1910. The El Dorado has a scuff on the front and extremely light wear on the embossing. The Tacoma has a miniscule surface flash next to a bubble and some nice light swirling seen in backlight.
