Applied top, 1880s. Here is a very strong example of the oldest variant of this popular Oregon whiskey 5th. In a light honey amber, getting closer to yellow amber in natural light. Applied top examples of the Van Schuyver are extremely rare! Thomas # 107.

Tooled top, inside threads circa 1900-1907. Unlisted. This is an extremely rare tooled top 5th that most advanced Western whiskey collectors have never seen. From what we can tell, there may be two examples known of this bottle. In great shape with no issues.

Big Seven The Whiskey That Sells Liquid Food
Tooled top, inside threads circa 1908. Great embossing with some unique wording you just don't see on bottles. This example has some of the original foil left on the neck where you can see the name Rosenblatt and San Francisco. For years this rare bottle was a mystery, but eventually this example with the foil showed up and solved the decades old question of its origin. The product was put out by Rosenblatt & Co of San Francisco. This particular example has the original stopper embossed 'Big 7 Seven'. There are two small surface crushes and one tiny potsone, see photos. Barnett # 47.

Applied top, late 1870s. Here's a rare 5th that's seldom offered for sale. This example has crude glass with bubbles of varying sizes, many full of white slag. There are a few miniscule flea bites on the side of the top and a fold of glass in the neck with what appears to be a minor flash. We've attempted to photograph these issues but, they're difficult to see! Thomas # 71.

Applied top. This is a crude, German blown example of the Hall, Luhrs 5th from Sacramento. Nice whittle and and stretch marks in the neck. There is a miniscule fleabite on the top of the lip. See photos. Thomas # 84.

Newmark, Gruenberg & Co Old Judge Bourbon S.F.
Applied top, early 1880s. There are several variations of the early applied top Old Judge 5ths, and this is the rarest of them all with the patent date on the base reading "Pat Apr 2 1872 SF & P.G.W Cal". It is a nice light amber, nearly yellow in natural light. There is a miniscule fleabite on the base edge and small patch of interior stain. Shallow 1/8" surface ping below the X to the right of F. Overall a very strong example of a rare 5th in a great color. Thomas # 76A.

Tooled top. There are a few molds on the tooled Phoenix Old Bourbon 5ths, but this is the earliest of them all. This is the same mold as the earlier applied top examples, circa late 1880s. In a nice medium amber with a bold strike and the famous Phoenix rising from the ashes, this is a great Western 5th! No issues, with a little bit of dirt left on the inside. Tea Kettle Old Bourbon Shea, Bocqueraz & Mckee Agents San Francisco
Applied top 1870 to 1880s. Another classic Western whiskey 5th with an embossed Tea Kettle. This one has a nice large top and some scattered bubbles. There is some very faint scratching on the interior of the neck, possibly from a bottle brush. Small open bubble on the edge of the base. Thomas #136.
