Fredericksburg Bottling Co. S.F. This Bottle Not To Be Sold
Applied top, pint, circa 1900. A hammer whittled green Fredericksbug beer from San Francisco. This is the much scarcer and more desirable pint size. There is a small chip on the bottom of the top and 1/2" check associated with it. Other than that, a beautiful bottle.

A & R Postel S.F. Cal (walking bear)
Applied top, quart, mid 1880s. Here is a bottle that is rarely offered for sale. Finding an applied top 80s quart beer for sale in any condition is hard enough, but one like this with hardly any issues is almost impossible. Arnold & Rudolph Postel were beer bottles in San Francisco in the mid 1880s who created this beautiful bottle featuring a large and detailed walking bear. Usually, these beers are full of case wear, stain, chips, and bruises, but this example is better than most known examples with just a small manufacturing issue straddling the applied top and travelling down into the neck of the bottle. There are also a few very minor pecks on the edge of the base. See photos.
Lot # 62
Winning Bid
$3,800.00

M. Seller & Co. Portland, O.
Applied top, quart, early 1880s. This rare Portland Oregon jar comes in both a half gallon and quart size, both rare, with about six mint quarts known. This is one of the two known green toned examples, and unlike others, has no issues on the top. There are only two other Western blown wax sealer jars, the San Francisco Glass Works and the Cutting & Co jars. It may be a long time until another M. Seller is offered. There is a crude bubble on the side of the bottle that melted into itself during manufacture, see photos.

Early Pontiled Pickle Jar
12.25", iron pontil, rolled lip, 1850s. This is a large and unusual pickle jar that was dug in California Gold Country many years ago. It has fluted shoulders, a ribbed lower body and is full of beautiful whittle and tiny champagne bubbles. There is a small potstone (non-radiated) and a shallow open bubble on the interior. We've seen one or two of these jars in the past, but all the other examples had heavily stained glass and no character. This will make a unique and beautiful addition to any early food bottle collection!

Greeley's Bourbon Whiskey Bitters
Circa 1860s. Here is a vertical Greeley's in a beautiful coppery pink puce color. It's difficult trying to describe this color so please look at the photos of the bottle in natural light and make your own conclusions. We have pictured it next to a straight amber bottle for comparison. This example is in great condition and the only thing we can find is a small crush on the edge of the lip and the common manufacturing fissures between the neck and top, please see photos.
